Animal Success Stories
These Are the Reasons We Work So Hard! When we see a Boston find a wonderful home at one of our adoption events or through our Foster Program, it makes us so happy! To watch the animal's journey from being no one's loved boy or girl to a cherished family member inspires us and keeps us doing this good work. Below are some wonderful success stories we'd like to share with you. If you have adopted an animal from Arizona Boston Terrier Rescue, please send us a picture, let us know how he or she is doing and give us some information about you. We love hearing about Bostons who are living wonderful lives in their forever homes and will post your pictures and stories on these pages. Mijo Dear wonderful people at the Valley of the Sun Boston Terrier Rescue (now AZ Boston Terrier Rescue),
I was deployed to Arizona in 2006 for Operation Jump Start. I was away from my family in Wisconsin, and I knew that I would be gone for two years. I was blessed with adopting my dog Mijo in September 2006. He was not a perfect Boston Terrier, but after he was housebroken he an I had many adventures living near the border in Rio Rico. I moved back to Wisconsin in 2008 and Mijo was VERY excited to be able to go exploring in the woods, and out fishing on the lakes with me. I left for Iraq in 2009, but he was then spoiled by my Mom while I was on my deployment. I would call home and they would put me on speaker phone, Mijo would hear my voice, get excited and then try to lick the phone. It was enough to almost make me cry, but I was filled with joy that he still remembered me. Since I made it home from Iraq, Mijo and I have been traveling to visit my friends and family all over the country. I trained him to: Sit, stay, stand, roll over, shake, and play dead. He is NOT a big fan of the cold Wisconsin winters, and most times after going out in the morning he runs back to bed. He is starting to get a little older and sleeps more, but he still loves to play at night and enjoyes long walks. I can never say thank you enough for all the joy that Mijo has brought into my life, and I could not have asked for a better dog. Thank you for all that you do, and I hope that you continue to find loving homes for these amazing Bostons! Sincerely, James Alan Dwiggins
