-BUDDY- This little guy was found wandering an apartment complex in Scottsdale. He was very thin, covered in ticks with long overgrown toenails and to top it off...one of his eyes was extremely ulcerated. He was picked up by one of our volunteers who spent many hours picking ticks off of this poor guy. He went immediately for a visit to the vet where he received a shot to eradicate the ticks and given temporary medications for his eye along with some pain medication to keep him comfortable over the weekend. On Monday he was taken to Eye Care for Animals where he was looked at further. The vet found that he had become blind in his cloudy eye due to another ulcer that had not been treated properly. The currently ulcerated eye is too far gone to be saved at this point and it was suggested that the eye be removed after the tick medication wore off. Now Buddy is completely blind. It was hard to adjust for him but he is doing great with his Halo for Paws vest that his Foster Family purchased for him. He has been neutered and is ready for his forever home. He will do best with a companion animal to help him navigate.
