Lulu Bells is an eight years young, splash Boston Terrier who is the poster child for cuteness. This sweet girl hasn't been dealt the easiest cards, but she's not letting it get her down and neither are we! Lulu came into rescue from the county shelter, limping and extremely sick. We immediately took her to the vet who revealed a probable torn ACL and Valley Fever. Like many dogs in Arizona, her Valley Fever is being treated with antifungal medication and she's on pain pills for her ACL, as we decided an obtrusive surgery isn't in her best interest at this stage in the game. She will need continuous Valley Fever tests and ACL follow up for some time.

After a lot of TLC, Lulu is officially feeling better and is up for adoption! She is a hilarious little thing, spunky as all get out and loves to follow her people wherever they go. Miss Bells is very active despite her knee injury, but won't be a dog that can go on walks daily and she needs a lift when getting in the car or on the couch to hang out. She loves to be part of the action in the house, but isn't crazy about the typical high energy tug and fetch common among most BT's. Lulu is crate and potty trained with the dog door, she loves being outside and working on her tan, so she definitely would like a big yard with lots of grass. Her knee has made basic commands and leash manners a little challenging to work on, but as she regains more strength in her knee, we know she will learn quickly as she loves to please her people.

Lulu Bells' ideal home would be with a moderately active family, with older or no children, as she can be a bit timid when meeting humans. She does great with her canine foster siblings, but like all of our adoptable dogs, a meet and greet with your resident pooch would be necessary to ensure everyone can be friends. Lulu would like a patient family, who will commit to getting her over her health hurdles and doesn't mind that she can't go on hikes or run marathons. She is an absolute doll who is incredibly deserving of a second chance with a forever family.  Lulu Bells is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and waiting patiently for you to fill out an application to be her new best friend!
