Duke is an 8-9 year old neutered boy who came to us from the Payson Humane Society. He was turned in because the bigger dogs in the home were attacking him. We were told he was 11 yrs old but our vet suspects he is more like 8-9 years. Duke is very very sweet and healthy. He has a brindle and white coat. His teeth are in great shape. We were told he does very well with small dogs but is scared of big dogs (for obvious reasons). This is what Duke's foster mom has to say about this little guy so far: "Duke is doing great. He adapted quickly to his new surroundings and routines. Although he might not like some of our policies, like no dogs on the couch, he responds well to commands and is a quick learner. He is extremely interested in cats but has come a long way with consistent redirecting and "spray-bottle therapy." Now if he looks at the cat, all I have to do is give a command and he will turn and walk away. He does great with the other dogs-somewhat playful but mostly ignoring them. He can be quite frisky for his age through tennis ball chasing and exuberant walks but he is well-mannered on a lead. He would love to be a lap dog and get pets all day long but he is also content to stay in his bed by your feet. Overall he is a super mellow guy and only barks when someone is at the door. He hates to be crated and will throw a tantrum but eventually settles down. We put our dogs up and let Duke roam free at night and during the day and he hasn't come close the chewing, marking, destroying anything. He is just a sweet and low maintenance kind of guy!" Duke has been placed with a family with children. He is doing great and seems to have fit in perfectly in his new furever home! More about DukeNot Good with Cats, Good with Kids, Good with Adults
