WINK a.k.a. Winnie- 6 yr. old Female 30 lb. red/white Boston Terrier.
Words to Describe Winnie: big, sweet, adaptive, blind, smart, adorable
Background:
When she came to us from County, she had a myriad of problems: kennel cough, a bad ear infection, and a raging red, painful, eye. Later found to be untreated glaucoma, her remaining eye could not be saved. She couldn’t see out of it and it was very painful. The decision was made to remove it.
Training:
Has been professionally trained, a must because of her size, anxiety-level and becoming blind
Excellent car rider
Good on the leash
Learning several commands: sit, down, place, come, freeze, slow, double time, up, step, and a redirect sound when heading for an object.
Loves her short walks both morning and night (about 15 minutes each).
Enjoys attention from her humans, squeaky toys and treats.
Ideal Home:
The best home for Wink would be one that has humans around a lot. Maybe retired or work from home. Most importantly understand the need for structure and daily training, especially in the first few weeks. Any new dog needs a few weeks to relax, even Wink as she adjusts to new digs. But perhaps the biggest reason for training is so that Wink and her new owners can make a great connection. When she makes a connection it’s for life with this girl.
Please consider giving this sweet girl a true, forever home where she can simply be a pampered pet. We are hoping heroes are able to step up in the near future for this little girl.
Please contact info.azbtrescue.org if you think you may be a match or would like to meet Wink.
