Learn more about the Boston Terrier.
Conan came to us with name unknown, juvenile cataracts and no manners but with the absolute sweetest, least dog-reactive personality. Now he knows his name plus a few extra nicknames. Among them Conejo (Spanish for rabbit) and Bat Dog (after he got his Batman collar). He had both cataracts removed August 28, 2018 and has come through the 4-6 week recovery time with flying colors. Because he had cataracts at an early age he will need eye drops for life. They are not cost-prohibitive. One thing to remember about Conan is that when he came to us he couldn't see and hadn't been taught manners. Now that he can see, he's essentially a puppy. He's very smart and responds well to training. As sweet and funny and smart as he is, he has one big challenge. He's very anxious and sometimes it gets the best of him. He absolutely defies crate training. If he needs to be confined he will do best confined to a room with a door. He will scratch if he thinks something interesting is going on elsewhere. He wants to be part of any action. Loneliness triggers his anxiety. Overall, this is one charming dog. He is cute enough to be a stuffed animal. His personality is largely friendly, smart, sweet and all the other good adjectives. He responds well to patience, structure and pack acceptance. He is not a vocal dog. Occasionally he'll bark to get someone to play with him or if his meals are late. But mostly he's quiet. He is neutered and has a microchip.
