Pepper is an affectionate and friendly girl who loves to be loved.  She loves to snuggle, she goes on 3 mile walks with her foster family daily and she absolutely loves everyone.  She was diagnosed with Cushings and is being treated with medications that she will need to take for the rest of her life. She is such an easy going girl that gets along with other dogs, cats and kids and will make a great family member!

Here's what her foster mom says about her:

As for Pepper, she is just the sweetest little thing. She is starting to like cuddling with humans, but she prefers to be on the top of the sofa, a pile of blankets/clothes, etc. —pretty much anywhere comfortable. I think we wake up too early for her liking because she never wants to get out of bed.

She enjoys our daily walks and despite her age and appearance, she can keep up quite well!

We call her our little rumba because if you can’t find her, she’s in the kitchen, licking every inch of space underneath the cabinets. She enjoys being right at our feet while we cook, just in case we drop anything.

Even though she can sometimes show little emotion and look like a statue, you can tell when she’s really excited about something because her one eye starts to get really big and bulge out a little. She mainly gets that excited over food/treats.

Some other things that we want any future owner to be aware of are that she loves to dig through trash and although she is pretty much house broken, she has had occasional accidents. She doesn’t make much noise (we’ve heard her bark once in the six months we’ve had her) so it’s sometimes difficult for her to let us know when she has to go outside. She would probably benefit from a house with a backyard and doggie door. It would need to be well fenced in of course because Pepper likes to run, is surprisingly quick and chooses not to come when you call her. She knows her name, but is not the best listener. She does not play with or pay attention to other dogs, but as you’ve seen at the meet-at-greets, she is by no means aggressive. She loves people and kids.
